Our Programs

How We Support Families and Youth

Our programs meet families and youth where they are — providing wrap-around support, trusted guidance, and real resources at every stage of the foster care journey.

Family Support

Supporting the Families Who Show Up Every Day

Foster parents, kinship caregivers, and fathers stepping into children's lives deserve strong community support. These programs are designed to support them.

Kinship Navigation

Relatives and family members who step up to care for children are doing something extraordinary. Our Kinship Navigation program provides wrap-around services to both relative and non-relative caregivers, including support groups, navigation assistance, and connections to essential resources. In 2025, our Kinship program served 1,886 clients across Palm Beach County.

I am old, and it is not easy to take care of three children — thank you for all your support.

Foster
Navigation

Becoming a foster parent is one of the most meaningful commitments a person can make, and one of the most challenging. Our Foster Navigation program supports current foster parents while recruiting new families ready to open their hearts and homes. In 2025, our team dedicated 480 hours to foster parent recruitment across Palm Beach County.

Having an organization that truly understands foster care the way Friends of Foster Children does has made all the difference.

Responsible Fatherhood

Fathers matter. Our Responsible Fatherhood program equips fathers and father figures with the support, resources, and tools they need to be present, engaged parents. From practical resources to Dad's Night Out, we create space for fathers to connect with their children and with each other.

The Fatherhood coordinator was very knowledgeable, patient, and would always advocate on my behalf when I didn’t have the voice.

Family
Finding

When a child enters foster care, finding and maintaining connections to family can change everything. Our Family Finding program works to locate relatives and family members and helps children maintain roots and relationships while supporting pathways to kinship care. In 2025, many children were connected to their families through this program.

Youth & Transition

Preparing Young People for What Comes Next

Aging out of foster care is one of the most vulnerable transitions a young person can face. Our Youth & Transition programs walk alongside them — building life skills, confidence, and community before and after that transition happens.

Navigating Adulthood

Young adults leaving foster care deserve more than a handoff — they deserve a real foundation. Our Navigating Adulthood program teaches essential life skills through interactive workshops, mentoring, and community connection. Relaunched in 2025, this program is setting the stage for exciting growth ahead.

Real programs. Real outcomes. Real lives changed.
