About The Responsible Fatherhood Program

At Friends of Foster Children, we believe that fathers play a vital and irreplaceable role in the lives of their children. When fathers are supported and engaged, the outcomes for children are powerful — and lasting.

Our Responsible Fatherhood program is designed to meet fathers where they are, providing practical resources, evidence-informed guidance, and a community of men navigating similar challenges. From accessing benefits to building a career path to understanding the dependency system — we walk alongside fathers every step of the way.

Fatherhood Matters

Research shows that when fathers are actively involved in their children's lives:

  • Children are twice as likely to go to college

  • 80% less likely to be incarcerated

  • 75% less likely to experience teen pregnancy

On the other hand, children in father-absent homes account for:

  • 71% of high school dropouts

  • 90% of homeless and runaway youth

  • 63% of youth suicides

What We Offer:

  • Application Assistance

    Help applying for Access Florida benefits including food assistance, cash assistance, ELC, and WIC

  • Resume Building & Career Development

    Support preparing for the workforce and planning a fulfilling career path

  • Fatherhood Support Groups

    A safe, judgment-free space to connect with other fathers, share experiences, and grow

  • Fatherhood Navigator

    A dedicated personal point of contact to help you access resources, understand processes, and stay connected to your children

  • Access to Additional Services

    Including L.O.T. Health Clinic, Clothing Closet, and help navigating the dependency system
