Enriching Connections

Friends of Foster Children of Palm Beach County is committed to giving youth in care the same opportunities as their peers – opportunities to get involved, to learn something new, and to build their self-confidence.

Enriching Connections provides grant funding for foster children to participate in activities, such as sports, field trips, and tutoring, that they otherwise would not have access to due to financial restrictions. Enriching connections differs from most enrichment programs as the program is a “grant” program in which each child can apply for assistance for items such as track shoes, baseball fees, dance and art classes, field trips, etc. It is the foster child’s responsibility, with the assistance of their guardian, to complete the application for funding and explain why they are requesting the funding, what they hope to accomplish and provide prices as applicable.

This process promotes self-confidence, teaches consumer research skills and promotes learning and independence.
